Who we are

Praeparo started life as a pure website design agency called construct-a-website.com in 2004. Whilst working on websites for clients it became apparent that small businesses whether high street shops or professional organisations were struggling with the fast pace of technology advances. Often they were being forced into a new technology because people told them they need one or competitors had one.

In 2006 construct-a-website was re- launched as Praeparo to step outside of the pure website design arena and start working with small business to help them understand and implement technology that would be advantageous. There is little doubt that new technologies can help the small business but this creates opportunities and also threats. The internet is a beneficial asset to any business but it needs careful planning as you would do any other major outlay. Some of these opportunities are:

• Sending and receiving emails.
• Finding items you buy (stock, raw materials).
• Publishing you catalogue online.
• Selling goods and services on line.
• Providing customer support.
• Remote or home working.
• Cheaper telephone costs.

The main item people consider is creating an internet presence or website and you must plan very carefully as it is much like opening a shop next door to 10 of your competitors. You have to make your window look more interesting than the others and get the customers through the door. Unfortunately, this can't be done by winding a handle and out pops a website as if you are not careful it will look just like everyone else. At the same time the window needs to clearly indicate what you are about and give confidence, you only have a few seconds whilst the person browses by your window to catch them and get them inside.
